There are a number of factors which may qualify one for non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT). NEMT is defined as transportation which is medically necessary and includes procedures and appointments such as: dialysis, behavioral health, rehabilitative services, methadone—and much more.

While all carriers differ, here are some qualifiers:

• You have no access to personal transportation
• You do not have a valid driver's license
• You are unable to drive to appointments
• You are physically disabled or have an impairment which inhibits travel
